The
fact that Easter is all about chocolate, hot cross buns and simnel cake,
makes it quite difficult to avoid indulgences. Which is why I decided to do
these home made flavoured yogurts. I love yogurt, and often find it serves to
naturally quench a sugar craving. I also love indulgences, and these two
recipes are just that. When purchasing a flavoured yogurt from a supermarket
did it ever cross your mind to flavour your own yogurt? It is a great way to
keep it natural, and nutritionally, its opens up lots of opportunities to get
your 5 a day, AND, it’s fun!
With the two recipes below, I have used low fat greek yogurt. If you prefer natural yogurt, by all means substitute, it will work perfectly too. I have chosen chocolate with a very high cocao content, as it contains less sugar and is far more natural. Also, a square of dark chocolate can often quench a chocolate craving far more effectively. The lack of sugar content means that you don’t always instantly crave more and more. A small hand held blender is massively useful here, If you don’t have one, a normal food processor will do the trick. |
