Why does the average person in China eat
significantly more calories per pound of body weight than say an American or
Brit, yet remains slender and free of cellulite? It is not about luck of the
draw, it is about the type of food, and therefore the type of calories,
they are eating. It may explain why French women who eat delicious but natural
food stay slim too!
It all boils down to the fact that the “calories
in, calories out” equation was created with machines, not bodies in mind.
Calories are calculated by the amount of heart required to raise 1 kilo of
water by 1 degree Celsius, but your body isn’t some sort of O’ level biology
experiment!
Types of calories
Where those calories come from – the types of
carbohydrate, protein and fat you eat – is important. If those calories are
freeze-dried, processed, 'low-calorie' versions of real food your body is
likely to hold onto stubborn fat and cellulite no matter how much you
try to restrict your intake.
If, on the other hand, you eat whole, natural
foods, your body gets all the nutrients it needs to burn off calories
effectively. What's more, when you eat real food you literally do not 'digest'
as many calories. Some experts say as much as 20% of your daily intake is
reduced with a naturally high-fibre diet. Consume good quality lean protein and
you’ll feel fuller for longer too.
So, your menus are deliciously focused on natural
foods rather than on numbers with just the right balance of everything you need
to get slim - and stay that way.
